The Story

In Chinese culture, the lunar calendar is often associated with China, but the significance of the sun cannot be overlooked. The ancient Chinese developed the 24 solar terms, which dictated how people lived and worked, especially in rural areas. These solar terms originated between the 16th and 11th centuries BC and reached their refined form during the Western Han Dynasty (206-220 BC). Pure Mahjong explores each of these 24 solar terms throughout the year, adapting the main screen and the game itself to reflect the season with typical motifs and objects, accompanied by interesting trivia.

Design: a fresh approach with exceptional results

Every image in Pure Mahjong is a carefully crafted collage based on real photographs. This usage of visuals sets it apart from other computer games, providing players with a unique experience that goes beyond the pixelated effects found in most contemporary titles.

Each of the 24 seasons (known as solar terms) is depicted as a work of art, featuring breathtaking and traditional scenes from different parts of China that correspond to each season.

While the main screen highlights the current season, the Mahjong games themselves are presented on skillfully designed changing backgrounds for a visually captivating experience.

Levels: Intelligent entertainment that caters to any timeframe

Pure Mahjong offers over 1,800 individually crafted levels, ensuring ample variety for months of challenging gameplay. Whether you prefer quick solutions that can be solved within minutes or more complex puzzles necessitating hours of effort, there is a level suited for every player. Solutions are available for all levels.

As an added feature, players can compare their results with others who have already completed each level before them, adding an element of competition.

Every day, four new levels ranging from relatively easy to very difficult are ready to be tackled, guaranteeing a continuous stream of genuine challenges. Upon completing a level, players are rewarded with a calorie-free fortune cookie containing over 700 distinct messages, waiting to be discovered.

Music: A soothing, uplifting soundtrack

We spent nearly a year listening to countless relaxing Chinese-themed songs to curate a soundtrack boasting more than 20 inspiring yet unobtrusive tracks. The result is beautiful music that not only helps players concentrate and relax but also enhances the meditative experience of playing Pure Mahjong, stimulating the senses.
